Koktebel Jazz Party expands borders

The organizers of Koktebel Jazz Party have prepared some surprises for the visitors.

This year, a 360-degree broadcast of performances will be available for the first time on the website ria.ru.

Also, there will be two additional venues — in the dolphinarium and at the Artek children's center, Dmitry Kiselev, Chairman of Kokyebel Jazz Party's Organizing Committee and Director General of Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency, said.

According to him, this year the main stage is traditionally located at Yunge Hill. Children will perform on the Voloshin Stage (by the way, entrance is free). There will also be a stage in Artek, 130 kilometers away from Koktebel.

Also, one performance will take place in the dolphinarium. "Next year we will make a full-fledged stage there. This year, we are conducting a trial run,"he said.

Mr. Kiselev thanked the Ministry of Culture for supporting the jazz festival. He also added that Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky sent a welcome letter to the festival participants.

Speaking at a news conference, Mr. Kiselev said that the hosts of the festival will be journalists and TV presenters Olga Skabeyeva and Ernest Mackevicius.

Art Director of Koktebel Jazz Party Mikhail Ikonnikov spoke about the program for day one. The festival will be opened by a band from New Orleans, a city that is famous among jazz lovers.

Then, Sergei Golovnya's Sg Big Band will perform, followed by Jesse Davis Quartet and Authentic Light Orchestra. The program for day one will be completed by the legend of Russian and world jazzman David Goloshchyokin.
